LO2: Be able to correlate the evolution of new media organisational cultures and roles which have impacted on your product proposal

Globalisation has impacted the media industry massively as people from around the world can access products from other countries therefore combining cultures and spreading traditions. This a largely due to the increase in the level of technology available around the world. For example, the internet is accessible around the world so people from certain countries can see what is happening else where. This has changed the market place as there is a higher demand for media products as more people know about it therefore they want it. This increases the required number of products made which will mean more staff need to be hired to do a certain job and more equipment will be needed to make the products. This will all cost the media organisation making the product money so therefore the price of the product will need to increase as they still need to make a stable profit to pay staff, keep making the product and in general so that the project is successful. This prompts diversification as investors of media organisations may in invest into one industry where there is a product in high demand to make up for losses they made in another industry. This will effect the industry of my idea as if my idea gathers a lot of attention then my proposal is possible as it will be in high demand and media organisations maybe willing to invest if they feel it will benefit them. Also, the market place is effected as globalisation increases the competitiveness amongst media organisations. For example, if one company is making a popular product for cheap and selling high amounts worldwide, other competitors will see this and try and better the original product. This maybe adding a new feature on top of a product similar to their competitor’s. This will mean that companies have to adapt to try and find a way to make their product top of the market so they can gain the maximum sales. This prompts diversification as investors will want to invest into the product that is doing the best so they have the best opportunity to make money. This means media organisations are always evolving to make sure their product is selling better than any others in their sector.

Large conglomerates in my sector have evolved over time as competitors have gone one step further on multiple occasions so conglomerates have to combat that. For example, early websites where mainly text and had very basic layouts which is mainly due to the lower level of technology at the time. This was certainly the case for the first ever website which info.cern.cm where the whole website was just green text on a black screen. Overtime, websites integrated images into the pages and they also had different styles of font to make the companies website look different from others and standout. Other competitors would of seen this and realised they needed to go further so they reach the top. This is when in 1995, videos where seen on websites which gave a whole new perspective on what a website could hold. Then 2005, Web 2.0 was introduced and websites were made to be interactive so people could actually interact with what was in their screen. This was massive as the majority of websites now are interactive which is vital for the idea I have created.

There are multiple job roles needed for my idea for example, I need a web designer who can use software like Adobe InDesign to design the look and layout of the website. A coder is needed to make sure the website will be interactive and the audience can easily use the pages. I am going to need a video editor in case there is any videos required to be on the pages. Social media and marketing specialists would be useful as I need someone to make sure the product reaches my target audience and someone needs to run the social media accounts. Photographers will be needed to go to the cities to take photos of the monuments and inside the buildings. They will need to take a 360 degree camera so that the audience can use that feature when the website is ready.
