LO3: Be able to illustrate how the legal, ethical, social and moral issues are considered within the product proposal

To ensure that my product will be successful will I need to meet the regulations set by regulatory bodies. The regulatory body that will monitor my work will be OFCOM as my product will be a website designed to let people tour famous monuments around the world with a 360 degree camera view so they feel what it is like to actually be there.

The first legal issue I will need to consider is that of copyright. I will need to ensure that my product is not too similar to another existing product as it may come across as me copying that idea. For example, my product is similar to google maps street view as the aspect of my product is a 360 degree camera view touring places on Earth. However, my product differs to google maps as the idea of my product is focused in specific monuments inside or outside of buildings with high amount of detail which betters google maps features.

The second legal issue I will to consider is the data protection act. My audience may potentially need to give us there contact details if they wish to ask us any questions online so it is our responsibility is make sure that that information stays private so our customers don't get random messages or calls from unknown people. The same applies for the implemented transaction system where my audience pays to sign up to use my product. To complete this, people would have t include a payment method which likely will give us their bank details which certainly can not be distributed to strangers.

Another legal issue I will need to consider is the completion of location forms so I have permission to film and take photos around the monuments I want. In the location form I will need to write down what I am planning to film, when I am wanting to film it and why. Then I will need a worker or the manager of the place to sign off at the bottom therefore allowing me access to film at the monument. If I do not fill out a location form and film there without permission then legal action might be taken against me where I either get fined or cannot publish my product.

As well as legal issues needing to be looked at I need to consider the ethical issues surrounding my product. In the second part of my report I will talk about the ethical problems that I will need to ensure do not appear in my product.

The first ethical consideration will be that of misinformation. This is important for me as the famous destinations I will be showing are major parts of certain cultures so I need to ensure the information is correct as that might offend the locals as they are proud of where they live. If I do incorrectly describe a monument or give false facts then I might get bad reviews on my product so it will have poor reputation which means it will not succeed in the market.

Another ethical issue would be I must make sure that I don't cause offence to anyone or any culture. This means that when I'm writing about the places I will show and people that live there, I cannot stereotype them as they will find that offensive to me standardising them to views that might not be accurate.

Onto moral issues I will to consider.

The moral issue I will need to consider is that my product cannot cause any concern or panic for the community or monument I write about. This links to them moral panics theory where people will see information in the media that will means they maybe become fearful towards some people or some places.
