LO4- Be able to create a proposal using converging technologies to exploit the identified markets

Distribution:

My product will be distributed onto a website and can be accessed by signing up to the subscription service which will allow you to use all available content, for example, the 360 degree camera view of famous locations of South Yorkshire. If on a mobile device such as phones or tablets, you maybe prompted to download the app from the App Store where you use the same account but it is much quicker and easier to use for mobile. When people load up the website, they will be met with the home page where they are given an opportunity to use a demo of the website so they can see how the basics of the website works and see if they like the product before paying for the subscription service.

Advertising:

To advertise my product I will use a variety of above the line and below the line marketing methods. Above the line advertisement is where I advertise my product on a large scale so it will reach a lot of the population therefore increasing the chance of reaching my target audience or other audiences. An example of above the line advertising that I am going to use is publishing posters in public places. This will ensure that a lot of people will see my product being advertised and if they pay attention to the poster and read it then they maybe tempted into trying not out for themselves. An example of below the line marketing I am going to use is social media as that will reach many people therefore making them aware of my product. Since my product is new to the market, not many people will be aware of the existence of my product so I will need ensure that product reaches as many people as possible. To achieve this, I will create accounts on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and potentially YouTube and TikTok where I can post videos showcasing the features that my product has. On Twitter I will use hashtags to create a small online community so whenever I post about the product or when interested consumers post about the product, all tweets will go to the hashtags #Dtours or #DigitalTours. This will allow me to gather feedback from my audience as they comment on my posts and make posts of their own describing if they like or dislike the product, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the product are and I can get a roughly idea if the creation will be successful. On platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, I will make posts for people to comments under so I can see how my audience feels about my idea.

Proposal:

The idea for my product is an interactive website/app that allows people to tour and view popular places and look inside some of the most well known creations that South Yorkshire holds. This product will also help people learn about these places as with every destination that you can tour, there is an in-depth description of the place that explains it’s history and it’s importance to its local community. If my audience likes what they view digitally then they maybe persuaded to book a visit to the place in person which will support travel lodges and flight companies.

To create my product, I am going to converge two technologies which is the interactive website and the use of 360 degree camera so people can maneuver around the monuments to see.

My product provides a service to consumers where they can view famous places from the inside and the outside using a 360 degree camera. This will allow users to move around buildings and go into rooms so they can fully see the places and learn about the destinations in the description section below. This can help people learn about the different cultures around the world and what famous monuments there mean to the local community.

The target audience for my product is going to be adults of any gender as they are most likely ones to be interested in these monuments and most likely be interested in travelling. My target audience will have a social grade of ABC1 as since my product may encourage people to travel abroad. This could be quite costly so people with a good income will only be able to afford these trips. Also, the access the full package of my product, you will need to pay a monthly subscription service so people with a low income wont be able to constantly afford the subscription fee therefore impacting the use of my product.
